It’s Back: McDonald’s Deep Fried Macaroni Seafood Salad Burger

mcdonalds-macaroni-burger-japan

This is one of those bizarre happenings in the food industry that I am very much on board with. Note, Mickey D’s Japan has been rolling out the “Gracoro” burgers since 1993, making if available only during the winter months. The seasonal item has been referred to as the McRib of burgers in that it has its own unique cult following in Japan, and we can see why.

The Gracoro Burger switches out the traditional meat patty for shrimp and macaroni that’s rolled around in  breadcrumbs, then lovingly deep fried to produce a seafood patty that’s crunchy on the outside and spilling with creamy goodness when you bite into it. The entire creation is topped with demi-glace sauce and cheddar cheese. Think glorified macaroni salad burger. Think frou frou fast food lolz. Think this should be available all year round, 24/7.
