Watch Irish People Try Soul Food For The First Time

Our mouths instantly fill with a lukewarm blend of saliva and hope upon any mention of soul food. Southern cuisine is the epitome of comfort foods and has been for generations in the United States.

In Facts’ latest attempt to broaden the palates of a panel of Irish folks, the group is given a variety of popular soul food dishes to try for the first time.

Soul Food dishes featured in the video include black-eyed peas, pork jowl (smoked cured pork cheek), hushpuppies, chitterlings (small intestines from pigs), and peach cobbler.

Man, nothing beats a good pork jowl sandwich.

In one of the channel’s more divided videos, the panel of taste testers actually don’t know much of the foods presented to them. The only highlight to them, as seen in the video, is the peach cobbler at the end.

Such a bummer, as we love everything about soul food. Whatever, more for us to enjoy then.
