‘Hot Topic’ Trying To Cash In On Bacon Revolution Via Epic Meal Time

For years people were talking about ‘Bacon’ being the “it product” for foodies, and in the past year or so there has been question to its longevity and saturation. Let it be known that Hot Topic, the retail chain notoriously known for taking trends and smashing them into the ground has peaked its head into the foodie game by way of the Epic Meal Time brand. We are now privy to the official business relationship between the Epic Meal Time boys and the novelty retail giant Hot Topic via a Tweet from the official EPT Twitter account.

While the shirt(s) is not yet for sale, it is tentatively priced between $19.50 and $25.50, etched on 100% cotton material and available in men’s sizes. Hot Topic was quick to the punch, so quick in fact, the mockup shirt they put on their website as an ‘Online Exclusive’ is simply a shoddy looking version of the one available for sale on EPT’s official webstore for $20. We’re not sure if this (pictured above) is the final product to be released, but this seems to be a well-played and strategic move for both brands, particularly with the looming Jay Leno – Epic Meal Time appearance scheduled for Thursday of this week.

What do y’all think of bacon and/or Epic Meal Time being so publicly represented at Hot Topic? Share your view!
