This Mom & Pop Pizzeria Created A Better Version Of Pizza Hut’s Hot Dog Pizza
Pizza Hut just released a crazy hot dog stuffed-crust pizza, and almost immediately, someone went out and made a better version.
The Dallas Observer challenged a little shop called Zoli’s Pizza in Dallas, Texas to create their own crust, pigs-in-a-blanket style.
If you thought Pizza Hut’s new pie was intimidating, Zoli’s Death Wish Pizza is like a calzone on steroids.
Like Pizza Hut’s, the crust is stuffed with little hot dogs, but the similarities end there. Zoli’s crust is a garlic knot and they used links from Luscher’s Red Hots, one of the many Dallas restaurants that helped Zoli’s create this monster.
After forming the crust, they went crazy with the toppings, putting mozzarella, pepperoni, Italian sausage from Luscher’s, brisket from the Pecan Lodge, Casa Rubia‘s pork ribs, and FT33‘s milk-braised pork.
Then for a little garnish, they used some more of Luscher’s links, nestled outside of the garlic knots.
The whole pie is essentially a buttery stuffed crust pizza.
The next question is, how do we get one of these delivered to California?
