How To Make Homer Simpson’s ‘Moon Waffles’ At Home [WATCH]

Do you remember that episode of The Simpsons where Homer makes his ‘Patented Space Age Out-Of-This-World Moon Waffles’?

In case you forgot, here’s a clip showing how he made this abomination of butter, waffle batter, caramel, and liquid smoke.

Mmmmmm…. butter.

If you’re not down with eating a whole stick of butter and an entire burnt smoky caramel waffle, though, YouTuber Andrew Rea has got you covered with a recipe that covers all four major elements of the P.S.A.O.O.T.W. Moon Waffles. He featured his version in a new episode for his popular show “Binging with Babish.”

To stay true to the show, Rea did start off with Homer’s OG recipe and ended up with some disastrous results.

….Yeah, that burnt caramel is NOT gonna come out any time soon.

Apparently, Rea had to go get a new waffle iron just to make his better and more flavorful version, but from the looks of it, it was totally worth it.

Sure, Rea’s tastier and more visually appealing waffles don’t look exactly like Homer’s version, but they’ve got the desired flavors and won’t wreck your kitchen or arteries. So if you’re looking to recreate this fictional food, look to this recipe for guidance.
