Ho-Toys Chinese Food
Everyone has their “spot” when it comes to Chinese food. It’s their go-to place. You don’t really need a reason, you don’t even need to have a another individual, and you’ve probably been going to it for years. Today, I went to “my spot”, “Ho-Toys Chinese Food” in Anaheim. It’s staffed with angry and sour Chinese ladies, but the MSG never tasted better. Join up as I procrastinate:
While most Orange County kids are out at the beach, I unfortunately have an entertaining Calculus final to study for. Of course, the mindset of procrastination kicks in…and what better way to study, then with a side of Chinese Food? Ho-Toys Chinese Food has been a place I’ve gone to ever since I was a wee lad. My mother used to take me after a hard day of 3rd or 4th grade craziness, so I figured…I have my own wallet, I have my own Bat Mobile…let’s go!
The establishment is not more than a hop, skip and a jump away from where I lay my head to rest. Who cares though, this is California, I ain’t about to walk.
Albertson’s shopping center on South St. and State College. It’s interesting how people refer to shopping centers by the super market that it has. One day, two super markets will be built in the same shopping center, then someone will be really screwed.
Situated between cleaners and a non-name-brand video rental store. That is the sign of true, psuedo China food.
I didn’t get the Home Made Chicken Vegetables Soup (grammar?), but it’s one of the few indoor pictures I snapped of the place before I got the stink eye from home girl at the register. Maybe she thought I was some critic douchebag…or one of those Myspace whore kids who document their day to show how amazing their lives are. Damn she couldn’t be further off.
So I placed my order, was out in 5 minutes, hopped in the Jag and sped home. The only thing worse than a hungry drive home is a hungry drive home with beautifully smelling food as your passenger.
Sorry residential + school zone.
Of course, in the heart of procrastination, it’s only proper to turn on the television to a full length feature film to ensure proper time waste (hello: DIE HARD!).
Hello broccoli beef! Hello kung pao chicken! What’s good steamed rice?
Sleep time. Eat on.
