Here’s a Look at the Cake Served at the Battleship Movie Premiere

The premiere of Universal Pictures’ new summer film Battleship (2012) was held last night in Los Angeles, and of course there was an awesome cake to be eaten…in the shape of a battleship. Photographer Alex J. Berliner snapped a shot of the film’s director Peter Berg (above) cutting the first slice of Charm City Cake‘s latest masterpiece.

The cake features close to 50 LEDs (red to simulate cannon fire, and white strung along the mast), a built in smoke machine, a poured Isomalt base mixed with blue food coloring to simulate the ocean and a hand-painted backdrop. It took 10 people 200 hours to create this 100-pound cake.

I wonder if Rihanna will pop out?

Battleship is in theaters starting May 18th, starring Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Rihanna and Broolkyn Decker.
