This Ketchup Bottle Was Unwittingly Sending People To A Porn Site

It’s not too surprising that something like, “Heinz Hot” could be directed to a German porn site, but it is surprising that a Ketchup bottle would be sending people there.

It looks like Heinz picked up a specific domain name for one of their promotions, but not for very long as it was later picked up by a porn site called Fun Dorado.

Daniel Korell brought this problem to Heinz’s attention through Facebook. He said that the QR-Code on the back of the bottle led him to a porn site, posted a pic and let it drift away into the internets. Heinz responded promptly and said the campaign was over, so the domain was no longer theirs. Korell then pointed out that he and probably several others still have those bottles in their home, sooooooo…

Either Heinz needs to hang on to domains for a little longer, or people in Germany need to use more ketchup.

Oh, and if you’re wondering, the domain no longer works. Trust us, we tried.
