This Selection of Korean and Tropical-Inspired Sushi Rolls Served in Pizza Boxes is Nothing But Fusion Goodness

Two delicious worlds are colliding this weekend to produce ‘not so ordinary’ sushi rolls. Hanchic, the Koreatown standout in Los Angeles that’s slanging Korean flavors through fusion gusto is linking up with i8 Sushi, the spot known for whimsically serving up incredible sushi rolls in pizza boxes. This collab is giving fans two days to chow down on Korean and tropical-inspired sushi.

The goal of this two day collab pop-up is to combine two cultures working towards new flavors and new ideas. Sure, what they’re offering is not traditional sushi, but it’s good to know that Chef Kyungbin Min of Hanchic and Chef Margaux Iao of i8 Sushi are focusing on flavors that gather folks together.

Some highlights of what to expect from this unique collab are a Citrusly-Cool Salmon Roll that has cucumber cilantro-minari pesto, salmon, and yuzu citron and a Ssam-Thing Good Roll that features seared Korean BBQ Angus beef, house galbi sauce, lettuce, onion, garlic, perilla leaves, and jalapeño. Customers will get to grub on a pizza box of five total sushi rolls, all with wildly creative flair.

The Hanchic x i8 Sushi collab will be running from August 27 to August 28 only, so make sure to put in your orders for the special box here.
