Goodbye McDonald's Double Cheeseburger?

Due to the growing cost of cheese, McDonald’s is considering yanking this flagship item from its dollar menu. Some restaurants have already begun serving it with a single slice of cheese, others have upped the price, while others have replaced it with just a “double hamburger”. Only time will tell what time of long term effect this will have on the burger chain. Not only does the Dollar Menu drive traffic to the restaurant, but it accounts for 14% of the company’s sales.
