This Swanky Vegas Hotel Makes a Lasagna with Diamond Truffles and Gold
The Mirage Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas strip is known for being pretty swanky, and that luxurious feel extends to its dining as well.
Until the end of 2014, Portofino by Chef Michael LaPlaca will be serving a lasagna that’s literally made with gold.
The Diamond and Gold Lasagna consists of Kobe beef, Iberico ham, prosciutto di Parma, Parmigiano-Riggiano, buffalo mozzarella, porcini mushrooms and foie gras Alfredo sauce. Oh yeah, almost forgot, it has white-diamond truffles and 23-karat gold leaf.
However, don’t think about rolling up to this place with a dollar and a dream, because this fancy lasagna plate sells for $100. So, if you really want to look like a baller in front of that special someone, or if you’re a master on the Blackjack table and are curious what gold tastes like, this could be your end-of-the-year mission.
Another plus, you’ll probably take a golden dump in the restroom and be able to Instagram it with a Lo-Fi filter.
