New York Pizzeria Giving Free Pizza To Customers Dressed As Princess Leia

Since Carrie Fisher’s untimely death, many have paid tribute to the iconic Star Wars actress.

Champion Pizza in Manhattan, New York is paying tribute by giving out free pizza to customers who dine in dressed as the leader of the Rebel Alliance, and any other Star Wars character, really.

While anyone who walks in like Chewbacca, or Han Solo can get a free slice, the real perk comes from dressing like Leia herself, as those customers can receive an entire pie, according to ABC News.

The promotion will run through Friday night, and the shop is expected to give out more than 10,000 slices to hungry mourners over the next couple days, according to Pix11.

Hopefully this promotion is received better than Cinnabon’s tribute Tuesday, which left some fans outraged, calling the bun bakers insensitive, leading to the post’s removal.

In this case, customers are getting free stuff, so it’s hard to hate on that. Plus, it’s an excuse to dust off the old Star Wars costumes.
