Food Network Sues Producer of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”

The Food Network’s hit show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is under some serious, behind-the-scenes turmoil as of late. Back in May, the show’s producer David Page sued the network claiming it had breached contract, apparently not letting spikey-haired host Guy Fieri tape more shows and even tried to replace Page as a producer.

According to a new report, The Food Network has filed a $1.5 million countersuit against the former producer of the show, claiming that Page created an “intolerable” work environment for the show’s staff. Apart from allegedly not delivering footage on time, promoting the show on its website in violation fo the contract, Food Network has made available a series of quotes from e-mails between Page and other staff members to the tune of:

“a vile uninformed piece of sh–,” “you are one f**cked up dumba** loser,” ““I hope you die so I can dance on your f**ing grave,” and “lets assume im a genius from now on. . . lets all assume i know what the f*** im doing. . . this is no longer a democracy.”

No response yet from Page’s people, but The Food Network claims to own copyright over the show. This may serve as some inkling to caring audiences that regardless of Page’s presence, the show has an opportunity of continuing. More on this as it comes.
