A MONTH-LONG International Food Festival Is Coming to Los Angeles
Food festivals are definitely my favorite kind of event to attend. Usually spanning the course of a weekend, these smorgasbords of cultural food and epic tasting experiences are the perfect way to learn and discover as much as possible about food around the world.
The Los Angeles Times has decided to put that entire experience into a global, cultural food experience that celebrates LA — and lasts an entire MONTH.
The festival, called Food Bowl, will focus on a night market with over 50 vendors in the middle of May. Around that will be tasting experiences, special programs, and tons of events on everything related to food, from cultural experiences and the night market to discussions on sustainability, food waste, and food security.
Tons of top-notch chefs, headlined by Chef’s Table’s Massimo Bottura, will also be flying in throughout the month to put on specific programs.
The full schedule of events won’t be announced until April 1st, since the LA Times is in the process of recruiting restaurants and chefs to join this incredible festival. Anyone interested in hosting an event at their restaurant, participating in the Night Market, or submitting a charity to give to can do so via information on lafoodbowl.com. The deadline for hosting events is March 1st, so chefs, make sure to get on that ASAP.
If Food Bowl is successful, the LA Times hopes to keep hosting it on an annual basis to continue to celebrate the diversity, international culture, and amazing food of Los Angeles.
