Flexitarians: Vegetarians That Eat Meat

Voucher Codes Pro, a UK based company dedicated to providing free coupons for frugal shoppers, has released a survey revealing that one third of vegetarians have admitted to eating meat whenever they get drunk.

Out of nearly 1800 vegetarians polled, roughly 34 percent of them admitted to shoving burgers into their green gullets when they were drunk. Unfortunately for vegetarians everywhere, it is these hypocrites that give the hecklers and persecutors the ammunition needed to mock their beliefs.

But fear not vegetarian friends, for there is a solution! A term was created in order to encompass the vegetarians who still enjoy a small helping of meat here and there and don’t want to feel bad about it. Those people are known as flexitarians.

This picture has absolutely nothing to do with being a Flexitarian, but instead these fashionable food hats.

The flexitarian lifestyle stems from a “good health” perspective, since most of the stricter and more disciplined vegetarians refrain from eating meat for ethical or religious reasons. This growing trend of eating less meat all began with the horsemeat scandal that plagued much of Europe in 2013.

A survey conducted by the Vegetarian Society revealed that out of more than 2,000 omnivorous people questioned, nearly 1 out of 5 were turned off by meat after finding out they may have just eaten Seabiscuit. This infamous dilemma led to people buying meat less often for fear of what they were actually getting. Thus, the flexitarian was born.

So if you’re one of the vegetarians that has a tendency to cheat on your diet, do yourself a favor and just change your label. At the very least, you’ll bring less heat upon yourself from all the carnivorous taunters. It’s time to squash the beef between plant-eaters and meat-eaters once and for all (Get it? Squash and beef? Yeah, you get it).
