First Place Prize For Sumo Wrestlers Is a Humongous Macaron

If you’re a kick-ass sumo wrestler and straight whoop on everyone in the competition, you win a plethora of first place prizes, including a giant green macaron.

It’s legit. It’s not a Photoshopped meme, or a still from a YouTube prank, it’s a real macaron, made by French patisserie Pierre Hermé, and presented in the Sumo Senshuraku tournament in Japan.

Thankfully, the France-Japan Friendship Trophy, the Czech Republic Friendship Trophy, the Yusho Trophy and the 4-foot tall Prime Minister’s Trophy were also presented to Hakuho Sho, the competition’s winner. But the “Big Macaron” is a nice, tasty prize as well.
