East Coast Heat Wave — This Is Bacon Cooked In A Car

Our friends over at the Dallas Observer are getting no special treatment from the wrath of this heat wave that’s been sweeping our nation. Determined to make the best of it (questionable), they’ve taken to their car to not only cook up a sheet of cookies, but a few strips of bacon for a well-rounded meal.

The hope was that the incredible 100+ degree heat outside of their Dallas, TX office would spur an internal temperature in the car hot enough to cook the cookies and crisp the bacon. Sure enough, Nick Rallo, the man behind all the photos, claims that “the bacon was actually crisp in some places.” The cookies, unfortunately, stayed pretty mushy:
