Dunkin’ Donuts Launches New Dark Hot Chocolate, French Toast Bagel & More

Makers of donuts and coffee galore, Dunkin’ Donuts is rolling in the New Year with an array of new tasty classics with a twist. Among them is the Dark Hot Chocolate, a new permanent menu addition for those looking for a less-sweet cocoa alternative.

For a limited time the new French Toast Bagel and  New Reduced Fat Cinnamon Cream Cheese Spread will be offered nationwide all day at participating Dunkin Donuts restaurants. The French Toast Bagel poses as an on-the-go take on the classic French Toast bathed in syrup, carrying the familiar flavors of cinnamon, vanilla, egg and butter and featuring an oven-roasted crust that lends itself to the soft, chewy center inside.

The New Reduced Fat Cinnamon Cream Cheese Spread is a nod towards Dunkin’ Donuts’ continuing campaign to provide more health-conscious breakfast options to their menu and falls right in step with yesterday’s release of the 400-calorie Turkey Breakfast Sandwich (available only in New England and the Mid-Atlantic US). A DDSMART Twitter Sweepstakes was launched alongside the release, with fans hashtagging #DDSMART in hopes of winning a $50 Dunkin’ Donuts mGift.

With food industry leaders looking to shake things up in 2013, Stan Frankenthaler, Dunkin’ Brands’ Executive Chef and Vice President of Product Innovation, told us that some of these new items were meant to “put an innovative twist on some of our fan favorite menu categories, and give people even more choices to keep themselves running throughout their busy day.”
