Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg Turn Their Classic Song ‘Gin & Juice’ Into A Line Of Canned Cocktails

The first thing that’ll come to mind when you see Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s new beverage collaboration is, “Why didn’t they think of this sooner?” Named after the duo’s classic song, Gin & Juice is a premium canned cocktail with four fruit flavors: Citrus, Melon, Passionfruit, and Apricot.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard the song Gin & Juice before. The Grammy-nominated hit song was released in 1994 and played a major role in establishing Dre & Snoop as Hip Hop icons. Thirty years later, it’s surprising that it’s taken so long to make Gin & Juice an actual product, especially considering that Snoop is no stranger to the food space.

He released a cookbook in 2018 aptly-titled “From Crook to Cook: Classic Recipes From Tha Boss Dogg’s Kitchen” and most recently teamed with Master P on Broadus Foods, a company that specializes in breakfast products. Though Dr. Dre has plenty of experience in putting his name to different products, this is his first time releasing a beverage.

Gin & Juice was launched on the eve of Snoop Dogg’s legendary debut album, Doggystyle, which features the titular song and was produced by Dr. Dre. The cocktails are premium gin-based and have already begun rolling nationwide, with the burgeoning brand’s plans to offer more options in the future.

“Together, we always try to create magic, we’re having fun being creative, and everything about this product is really us,” shared Dr. Dre in the press release. “There’s passion behind it, and friendship and love and a culture. We’re shooting to make everything we do magnificent, and fortunately, most of the time we hit the target.”

Snoop continues, “Look at our age and look at what we’ve done, and we still love each other, so why not do something together? A lot of times people have been in a relationship for thirty years and can’t talk to each other, can’t hang out, so it’s just fun to be in a partnership with people that you actually love.”

You can currently find Gin & Juice at BevMo and other online spirits retailers.
