Pickle-Covered Pizza Is A Delicious Reality At This Minnesota Pizzeria

On a recent trip to Minnesota, I learned of a popular snack food dubbed ‘Minnesota Sushi’. To create this, you would take a pickle spear and slather cream cheese around it. Then, a slice of ham (or luncheon meat) is wrapped around the cheese-covered pickle. It’s then cut into slices, and served as a bite-sized snack.

QC Pizza, a pizzeria in Mahtomedi, MN, has taken he concept of Minnesota Sushi and transformed it into a head-turning pizza pie.

Called the “Kinda Big Dill,” the pizza boasts a head-turning aesthetic that piqued our interests.

It begins with a base layer of garlic dill sauce on top of the dough, followed by a layer of homemade Canadian bacon that’s been smoked for 48 hours, and a layer of fresh pickles. It’s then caked with a generous layer of mozzarella cheese, yet another layer of pickles, and a dusting of dill.

Those visiting Minnesota with an affinity for flavors of the dill variety will definitely want to check out this pizzeria. QC Pizza is also known to get creative with their pies, and are constantly updating their menu with whimsical additions like a taco pizza and one made entirely of bar snack toppings.
