Could Del Taco Unexpectedly Become the Largest Ramen-Serving Restaurant In The Nation?
Del Taco is about to shake up the fast-food scene with its latest introduction: Shredded Beef Birria. This menu addition showcases succulent braised beef paired with a custom consomé for dipping, encompassing Two Shredded Beef Birria Tacos, a Shredded Beef Birria Quesadilla, and the unprecedented Shredded Beef Birria Ramen. The latter marks a significant milestone, as Del Taco becomes the first major quick service restaurant in the nation to serve ramen.
But could the new Shredded Beef Birria Ramen unexpectedly propel Del Taco to the top of the ramen-serving hierarchy in the United States? The chain’s 590 locations across the nation boldly solidifies that. That number leaps over JINYA Ramen Bar, which has over 30 locations across the US.
The brain behind this birria lineup is Del Taco’s Senior Director of Culinary Research & Development, Jeremias Aguayo, whose love for birria stems from his Mexican heritage. His unwavering commitment to authenticity, nurtured by childhood memories, played a pivotal role in the development of these new offerings. Aguayo and his team invested over four months in perfecting the consomé, with 16 revisions to ensure it’s spot-on. The result is a flavorful broth that perfectly complements the tender, spice-infused beef, slow-braised to perfection.
Reading Del Taco as the top ramen-serving restaurant in America may require a couple blinks and double takes to register, but the sheer volume of its location compared to the country’s largest ramen restaurant chain shows how the popular California-based fast food empire is taking the crown and placing it atop its birria-loaded noodles.
Fans can indulge in the new Shredded Beef Birria Tacos, Shredded Beef Birria Quesadilla, and Shredded Beef Birria Ramen at Del Taco locations nationwide starting November 9 for a limited time.
