Craving: The Elvis Sandwich + Bacon

I was first turned on to this apparent “favorite” sandwich of the late Elvis Presley when I was out at a swanky lounge in LA with my boy Neil. He ordered up their version with some sort of caramel dipping sauce, and I was hooked. Ever since, I’ve been trying to find other places that make them, and even make them myself. In the meantime, here’s a homemade variation which includes two slices of bread, peanut butter, bacon, banana, dunked in french toast batter, and once complete…peeled open, drizzled with syrup, and put back together. If it sounds like a heart attack, it probably is. Regardless, eat on! (PicThx VartaMelon)
