Craving: Sour Jacks

OK, let’s preface. I love Sour Patch kids. I know there are a fair amount of “Sour Jack Haters” out there. I’m not really sure why that is…maybe some people get discouraged when they’re at their local movie theater, trying to get their Patch fix, and the concession stand attendant says, “We got, like, Sour Jacks, is that cool?” and every Food Network aficionado feels they have some obligation as part of their personal Blue Code of Silence to wish ill upon the creators of Sour Jacks and their fantastic candy. With this in mind, I loves me some Sour Jacks, and I wish my local Blockbuster was open right now (seems to be the only location I can find it) so I could usurp a tray of said candies. Sour Jacks and Sour Patch kids are two extremely different candies, regardless of the similarities in name. Sour Jacks maintain a deeper, darker chew to them…while Sour Patch kids are a bit lighter and sweeter in comparison. In conclusion, spread the love, and I watch Food Network too.
