Craving: Hakata Ramen

Ever since I took a Japanese course, I’ve been hooked on the culture and more specifically, the food. Besides sushi, one of the most common things I always go out to get is hakata ramen. For those unfamiliar with what it is, it’s simply pork broth and ramen. Of course when you think ramen, you think Top Ramen, but no sir, this is much better. The broth is made from pork bones and simmered for over twelve hours, usually over night to be served in the bowl in front of you. My favorite places to get ramen are Shin-Sen-Gumi and Daikokuya. If you haven’t tried it yet, get on it. Trust me, it’s something you’ll come back for again and again.
