‘Cooking with Lynja’ Chef, Lynn Yamada Davis, Passes Away At 67 After Battle With Cancer

The culinary world and social media community are mourning the loss of Lynn Yamada Davis, the vibrant force behind wildly popular “Cooking with Lynja,” who passed away at 67 on January 1, 2024. After a battle with esophageal cancer, Davis leaves behind a legacy of laughter and delicious creations.

A mother of four and grandmother of two, Davis initially stumbled into the digital limelight during the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfamiliar with TikTok, she embarked on a month-long video project with her son, Tim, who served as the other half of the operation — scripting, videography, and editing. Little did they know, this collaboration would evolve into the wildly popular “Cooking with Lynja.”

Known for her off-the-wall, charming, and comically edited cooking videos across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, Davis’ infectious spirit and love for culinary adventures endeared her to fans worldwide, amassing a total of close to 30 million followers across the platforms. Despite her health battle, she continued to captivate audiences with her unique blend of humor and home-cooked creations.

In a heartfelt tribute above, Tim expressed his gratitude for his mother’s unwavering support, emphasizing her role as the star of the show. Lynn Yamada Davis may have left this world, but her joyful recipes and cherished moments will forever linger in the hearts of those who tuned in to savor the joy she brought to kitchens around the globe.
