Feds Discover $12 Million Of Cocaine Stuffed Inside Shrimp

A shipping container filled with shrimp coming from Guyana arrived at a port in Brooklyn. While that doesn’t sound too out of the ordinary, this particular shipment came with something little extra. The shrimp contained a special helping of cocaine, reports the New York Daily News.

Stuffed with 268 kilograms of the substance, the cocaine was discovered by drug-sniffing dogs at a warehouse in Queens. The cocaine had an estimated street value of more than $12 million.

Federal agents arrested a man they believed was part of a group that organized the unloading process of the container. While he is claiming he had no idea the drugs were inside, he is currently being held without bail.
