Childish Gambino Meets The Adorable Girl Scout Who Sang ‘Redbone’ To Sell Cookies
Entertainer Donald Glover, AKA Childish Gambino in the rap world, appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert Thursday and got a pleasant surprise.
Glover is the man behind the Grammy Award-winning hit “Redbone,” which captivated the heart of a young Girl Scout in Atlanta.
In the midst of trying to sell her Girl Scout cookies, Charity Joy and her Father Seymore Harrison Jr. sang a cover of “Redbone” last February, and it was one of the cutest things in 2018 so far.
With Glover being a guest on the Late Show, Stephen Colbert decided to fly in the young girl and her father to meet the the song’s original author.
Glover was excited to see young Joy, and bought out the 113 boxes of cookies left to reach her goal. They all handed out boxes to the delighted audience now in possession of those dangerously satisfying cookies.
