Caulipower Becomes Amazon’s Top Frozen Pizza Startup In Just Six Months

frozen cauliflower pizza startup

In February of 2017, Gail Becker launched Caulipower, a frozen cauliflower pizza startup that has drawn cult followings for their gluten-free pies. In just eight months, the business has grown to the point where they’re in 6,500 stores, including massive retailers like Walmart and Kroger.

Caulipower began as Becker was looking for cauliflower pizza crust options for her sons, both of whom have Celiac disease. After struggling to find one anywhere, she decided to create her own and founded her fast-growing startup. That business, on top of the 6,500 store locations, has already become Amazon’s best-selling frozen pizza.

What has made the pizza so successful? Apart from people buying into the gluten-free trend, the fact that the pizza is healthier due to the vegetable crust has drawn in crowds looking for healthier options for the frozen pie. It’s not something new in the food business world to try these type of options, especially with cauliflower pizza crust being a popular online recipe. In fact, Trader Joe’s came out with their own version just a few months after Caulipower launched. Based on what Popsugar’s staff had to say about it, though, it doesn’t come close to matching the frozen cauliflower pizza startup in terms of flavor. As flavor is the driving force behind any successful food business, it’s clear that Caulipower’s  superiority in it makes it such a top-notch and lovable product.

Between all of those factors, it’s no wonder that Caulipower has really been out here flourishing. It’ll be exciting to see where the frozen cauliflower pizza goes from here.
