Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s Turn to Twitch for New Menu Items

Did you ever have a genius creation that you wish a restaurant heard? Well, now you have the chance! Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s are teaming up with Twitch to bring fans new menu items, all with the help of said fans.

Over the past few weeks, CKE Restaurant Holdings (owner of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s) asked folks to vote on social media for their favorite ingredients. Using these submissions, Chef Owen Klein, CKE vice president of global culinary innovation, and Twitch streamer Storymodebae will host a Culinary Showdown livestream on Monday, August 22 to create limited-time menu items in real time.

“Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s are always looking for the next craveable item and this collaboration with Twitch allows fans to join in on our creative process at our Nashville area test kitchen,” said Chef Klein.

Following the showdown, fans can vote on menu items during weekly Twitch streams featuring streamers such as DataDave and DaydreamerDan, who will sample each community-designed menu item. Sounds like a dream job!

Storymodebae will return during the week of October 24 to reveal the winning, limited-time menu item, where viewers will have to work together in chat to decode a series of clues that will unlock and reveal the new item.

According to the brand press release, the winning creation will be offered at a Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s in two select markets.
