Japanese Company Releases Caffeinated Ramen Built For Gamers

Nippon Ham, a Japanese brand, has just released an interesting concept: caffeine and ramen noodles. According to the company, it’s a ready-to-eat caffeinated ramen product designed specifically for gamers. You’d be surprised to learn that around 40% of the world are online gamers, per USwitch. Players spend ridiculous amounts of time gaming and as you can imagine, that impacts their diets and mental clarity. A survey conducted by Kaspersky found that 42% of professional gamers are concerned with their mental health.

Boost Noodle not only keeps your head in the game, it requires no heating and can be eaten with one hand so you don’t have to put the controller down. It’s a Taipa-style ramen that was created by a professional gamer who wanted to eat ramen without having to step away from the console. The new savory surge serves a solution for gamers that want to eat easily with one hand, but prefer something more filling to a jelly drink or beverage.

The squeezable ramen pouch features a 16-millimeter spout that lets noodles flow freely into your mouth. Ingredients include short-cut noodles, roast pork, bamboo shoots, seafood, and pork bone soup. There are 120 grams of ramen in each pouch and it can be stored at room temperature.

“With the recent spread of smartphones, there is an increasing demand for food that can be easily eaten with one hand. This product is recommended not only for gamers who enjoy playing games for long periods of time, but also for those who don’t have time to eat, or who want to have a quick meal while commuting or traveling.”

Boost Noodle was released on July 27 and is now available through e-commerce sites for 660 YEN + tax (or USD 4.31).
