Burger King’s California Whopper Goes Nationwide

In the wake of yesterday’s news that Burger King woud be ditching its King mascot, we caught wind that their initially limited-release California Whopper would be getting a nationwide push. The burger, which initially made its rounds in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, feature’s what the world envisions California’s signature burger to be — guacamole, swiss, lettuce, tomato, bacon and chipotle-ranch dressing.

The limited-time California Whopper will be priced at $4.49, and runs 820 calories, 56 grams of fat and 38 grams of protein. Not exactly a “light” lunch, we’re not entirely sure how this fits into the new image Burger King aims to establish, but the initial ad spot for the new Whopper is indeed a welcome jump-off for the brand.
