Sausages Around the World, From the USA to Japan [INFOGRAPHIC]

There are few things more delicious than the smell of grilled leftover meat. Amirite? Regardless of whether you agree or not, here’s a nifty map of the various versions of  “ground pork or beef encased in animal intestine” around the world.

German bockwurst, for example, is a mixture of pork and veal, while Australian devon is a pork version of American bologna. Other variations include Chilean blood sausage, or “prieta,” which is usually reserved for special occasions, and the classic American hot dog. The latter is usually found encased in deep-fried corn batter or posing as tan and toned gams on the beach.

Unfortunately, there are some key players missing on this sausage map, such as Italy and Romania. If mici isn’t on there, it just ain’t right.
