Watch This Artist Create Stunning Art Using Toast

It’s a common belief that art is subjective. One person’s trash is another person’s Dali. Everyone has different tastes, and that allows art the freedom to be anything. Speaking of anything, I came across this awesome video of art being created using slices of bread.

In the clip, the artist ID55367779 on Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok) takes viewers on a step by step, or rather, slice by slice journey. Using what appears to be slices of bread, she applies a hot iron, hair straightener and curling iron to them, toasting different shapes and patterns onto individual slices. Although it’s probably a tedious, day-long process, thanks to urban_streetart we’re given the final product in under a minute. If I had to guess, I’d say she used at least 200 slices to pull it off.

I always get lowkey inspired by watching people put lots of work into unique things. It’s especially dope when it involves food!

While many enjoyed the end result, some did question whether or not it was a wasteful attempt at getting attention. What does one do with 200 slices of bread art? Maybe if it was created in a sanitary space she could take the slices and make a bunch of artistic sandwiches with them. Afterwards, she could throw one helluva sandwich party.

With no backstory, I guess we’ll just have to enjoy this for what it is, amazing art.
