Bake the Zuckerburg Family’s Eggnog Cinnamon Chip Scones & More in ‘The Startup Chef’

It’s like the memoir got together with a cookbook and a little charity on the side, and they had beautiful social media babies.

This is “The Startup Chef” and this is awesome.

First, the memoir part. See, this isn’t just your average cookbook with a culturally relevant title (like “50 Shades of Chicken“). It’s also a peek into the private, familial lives of famous tech folks, like Mark Zuckerburg (yes, the Facebook guy), who provides his family’s eggnog cinnamon chip scone recipe, or the mother of the guy who founded Foursquare (from whom you can learn how to make sausage soup). It reminds us all that these bajillion dollar tech pundits are real, actual people, who eat real, actual food, with their real, actual families, and maybe even really, actually set off smoke alarms in their real, actual kitchens every once in a while.

But probably not.

So, in addition to learning how to make scones like your favorite techies, the cookbook is also being sold on Leanpub, with proceeds going to charities like No Kid Hungry and Rockaway Plate Lunch. It’s selling for a recommended $20, with a $10 minimum, and is available, of course, in every e-book format you can imagine (PDF, Mobi, and Epub).

The e-book itself comes from Hunter Walk (who contributed a thumbprint cookie recipe), product executive for YouTube, and leader of YouTube for Good, which works with schools and nonprofit businesses, and Maya Baratz, who runs new media products at ABC News, and reiterates the idea behind gathering recipes from famous tech moguls:

These are really interesting people, well-known for what they do in the office during the day, but this is a peek into what inspires them or their creative process.
