Adventure: Taqueria El Granjenal (Costa Mesa, CA)

Orange County is renowned for its perfect weather, breathtaking beaches, attractive people and… taquerias!? The gang and I were driving down 19th street in Costa Mesa  and spotted no less then seven taco stands within the span of a couple blocks. With our stomachs running on empty, we picked Taqueria El Granjenal out of the bunch and grubbed down! Check out the play-by-play after this rainy day in Costa Mesa, CA.

Taqueria El Granjenal seating keeps it real!  With a semi-closed off patio,  filled with a hand full of tables and benches. Their seating is a nice break from the everyday normal look of conventional restaurants. As you can see, local  Foodbeasts Rudy and Geoff are arguing whose “burrito” is actually bigger!

As some other taquerias do,  Taqueria El Granjena doesn’t just specialize in Mexican food. They also serve hamburgers, like their take on a Double Cheeseburger, Bacon Burger or even a Bacon Avocado Burger.

After glancing at their menu for a few seconds, we all decided to go big and order several Carne Asada Burritos and a Chicken Fajita Burrito! Every dish comes with a side of chips, marinated carrots and jalapeños and a roasted red chili sauce. (Bomb)

Carne Asada Burrito was filled with beans, rice and a hearty amount of meat. #Pretty

I had to try to keep it healthy with the Chicken Fajita Burrito; loaded with grilled chicken, onions, and red and green peppers!

Red Salsa with a hint of roasted chillies!

Of course we had to wash it down with some drank, fortunately Rudy kept it real, ordering up a large Horchata. Horchata is a staple in authentic Mexican restaurants, a delicious mixture of milk, cinnamon, rice and sugar.

The Chicken Fajita Burrito and the Carne Asada Burritos were delicious; everything in general was awesome! If you ever make it to 19th street and make it through the gang of taquerias, make sure to stop by Taqueria El Granjenal and grub by the beach… Southern California style!
