A Look at Umami Burger Anaheim — the Absinthe Root Beer Float, and a Welsh Rabbit Burger
Umami Burger, the quickly expanding gourmet burger chain, continues its Southern California push with their largest location to date, in Anaheim, CA.
Each Umami location runs with its own theme and specialty menu items — the new Anaheim location being no different. In terms of unique food offerings, the Umami creative team brings to the table a Welsh Rabbit burger, that earns its name from a popular UK dish. Umami’s version includes a house beef patty with broiled cheese sauce and house made pickles.
For those with a combined sweet and alcohol tooth (we’re looking at you, diabetic alcoholics), also new to the menu is an Absinthe Root Beer Float that features root beer topped with Absinthe Ice Cream from L.A. Creamery. A representative for Umami confirms that there is indeed an alcohol percentage that is above 2$, which means only patrons above 21+ years of age can order it:
The new digs share building proximity with the Anaheim Brewery (their patio is one in the same), and there are windows within the Umami storefront that look into their neighbor’s brewing and tasting rooms. Umami’s buildout is located within the Packard Building, a historical building in the area that was originally erected in 1925, modernized in 1983, and maintains decore throughout that marks a serious throwback with old license plates redesigned into lighting fixtures and servers wearing mechanic-style shirts.
