A 9-Year-Old Is Brainchild Behind New Mexican Food Concept
Rockin’ B’s Burrito Bandito is Mission Viejo, CA‘s newest Mexican restaurant. Located in the city’s Kaleidoscope Courtyards, a shopping, dining, and entertainment center, the restaurant joins some formidable competition from the likes of Buffalo Wild Wings and Rocco’s Pizzeria, to name a few.
What’s the hook that will set this place apart? Brandon Lauriano, the apparent 9-year-old brainchild behind the restaurant’s concept, menu, name and poster-boy in the subsequent marketing campaign. According to the Mission Viejo Patch, Brandon visualized the restaurant on his computer, and with the help of his father Don Lauriano (who also owns two other restaurants within the Kaleidoscope center), was able to create the menu and construct the layout to his liking.
The restaurant features a build-it-your-way menu, complete with burritos, puffy tacos, soft tacos, taqueria tacos, burrito bowls, ensaladas, nachos and quesadillas. Customers choose the meats and sauces and it gets made before their eyes.
Notably, the burritos at Rockin’ B‘s have special cooking options:
- Wet It! Topped with Ranchero Sauce, Salsa Verde or Chipotle Cream Sauce and Melted Monterey Jack Cheese
- Grill It! Griddle grilled to add a little healthy crispiness
- Fry It! (Chimichanga) The whole burrito, deep-fried, golden brown.
