This NFL Star Eats 9000 Calories A Day And He’s Kind Of A Dick About It

JJ Watt, the enormous, powerhouse NFL defensive end for the Houston Texans, consumes roughly 8,500-9,000 calories a day. A DAY.

Being as big as he is requires having to constantly fuel your muscle-bound body with energy, but eating whatever you want won’t necessarily get it done. Since he works out and practices every day, the strain placed on his body requires a much more balanced (and, frankly, boring) diet.

When asked what exactly his diet consisted of, Watt would not comment in order to maintain his health secrets. Also because he’s kind of a dick, which in all fairness is a valuable and almost necessary quality to have when chasing down quarterbacks on the field.

For those of you that love food more than you hate your body (good for you) and don’t bother counting carbs, here are some things that could rival Watt’s regimen in terms of daily calories:

  • 25 McChicken Sandwiches from McDonald’s
  • 16 Big Macs
  • 13 ½ pizookies from BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse
  • 1,200 large stalks of celery
  • 7 watermelons weighing 9 lbs each
  • A little over 2 gallons of ketchup

As for the rest of us, we’ll just have to wait until scientists get their shit together and invent a burrito that burns more calories than it creates. Oh, don’t worry lab nerds, we’ll wait.
