Turn Up Your Tuesday Night With This Lamb Harissa Taco And Cocktail Recipe
Everyone knows that Taco Night is the best day of the week (especially if it lands on a Tuesday). So, it was only natural for Elie and Geoff of Foodbeast to show us how they get down — even when it’s an “off” day — by adding a twist to something so deliciously familiar.
Did someone say lamb harissa tacos and lavender palomas? Yep, sure did. As Elie and Geoff break down some basic cooking instructions for this tasty taco recipe, we’re introduced to a few substitutions for ground beef and sour cream. When using Lebne, a non-flavored greek yogurt, harissa is mixed in for some extra kick (harissa is a Maghrebi hot chili pepper paste). Elie also adds some chopped basil and chopped mint.
If your mouth isn’t watering at this point, maybe you need some additional insight, because according to Geoff, this recipe sounds fuego.
“What’s great about this taco is that, the things you’re used to having — like cheese or salsa — are replaced by yogurt [acting] as the dairy item, and harissa as your spice; it’s so familiar, yet so different at the same time,” Geoff explained.
Now, onto the palomas, which use mezcal — similar to tequila, but a tad more smokey in flavor. These palomas will get your party jumpin’, for sure. With a super quick and easy recipe, a bit of mezcal, some grapefruit juice, lavender simple syrup and a dash of 7UP for some crisp lemon lime flavor, these palomas make a perfect pairing with the lamb harissa tacos.
That’s what’s UP.
