Man to Sail 150 miles in Pumpkin for Charity
Carving Jack-O-Lanterns is soooo 2007. Wisconsin resident J.R. Hildebrandt has instead fashioned a canoe out of a giant pumpkin and plans to row 150 miles for charity. Even after carving, the makeshift boat weighs in at a whopping 760 pounds.
His noble eight day trek down the Wisconsin River will raise money for the Tri City Children’s Dream Foundation, who sends special needs children on memorable trips like Disney World, NASCAR races and even Jamaica. The journey is bound to get both tiring and cold, so the giant pumpkin’s interior is outfitted with a chair and small heater. Bon Voyage J.R.!
