12-year-old Behind Red Robin Restaurants’ Latest Menu Addition

As part of a recent cook-off sponsored by Red Robin in collaboration with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), 12-year-old Donovan Duggins’ Mt. Vesuvius Burger made its way past thousands of other kid-invented burger recipes to claim the throne. The burger, a beef patty based sandwich, sits on a sesame seed bun with crumbled blue cheese, bacon, provolone cheese and his own Lav Sauce, a mixture of sweet BBQ sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder and paprika.

The burger will be sold starting July 26  through September 11 nationwide at all Red Robin locations, donating 50 cents of every unit sold to NCMEC to help keep kids safer. Not a bad looking combination of flavors in this Mt. Vesuvius burger — congrats to young Donovan on his win!
