Wendy’s Launches New Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger for Summer

Wendy's Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger

What’s with fast food and irregular buns lately? Not that I’m complaining, but between’s Arby’s King’s Hawaiian sandwiches, Jack in the Box’s Big Waffle Stack, and now, Wendy’s New Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger, it’s gonna be hard getting people to go back to boring old bread whenever that “limited time” period finally does come to an end.

Take the last of that list, for example. Wendy’s describes its newest hand-cut burger as having an “artisan-baked, authentic pretzel bun” with a “rich interior flavor and chewy, rich crust.” This hearty coating will match perfectly with the burger’s insides, which consist of thick Applewood-smoked bacon, warm cheddar cheese sauce, nine different greens and hand-sliced red onion and tomatoes, all stacked atop Wendy’s signature square beef patty.

For $4.69, the PBC is set to roll out at all North American Wendy’s locations during the next two weeks and will be available until the end of summer. At least that’s the plan, until someone at corporate remembers about Oktoberfest and decides to keep it on the permanent menu, along with a whole new line of Wendy’s-branded craft beers. What? It doesn’t hurt to dream.
