The iFong is a Cake Packaged in an iPhone-inspired Box

Fans of the iPhone claim that it can do everything, but can it turn into a delicious treat that you can eat? No? What a shame.

If you’re looking for an upgrade, a Taiwanese bakery is offering customers a yummy iPhone alternative: The iFong. The term “Fong” means “pineapple fruit, but we don’t recommend biting into it. The high-tech, delectable dessert is actually a clever marketing gimmick combining the sleek packaging of the iPhone with Taiwan’s most beloved pastry: Pineapple cake. The bakery confessed to a local Taiwanese press that the unique packaging is meant to encourage customers to buy the pastry as a gift.  At  TWD $250 (US $8.30) per box, it’s a reasonable price for a novelty pseudo iPhone that you can nomz.

Each “iFong” package contains six petite pieces of wrapped pineapple cakes and according to MicGadget, the cakes are “quite tart and you can really taste the flavor of pineapples.” Pineapple iPhone cakes? Hey, at least they’re not deep fried.
