Del Taco Launches a Summer Carnitas Menu and Cheddar Potato Poppers

For a limited time, Southern California-based Del Taco is bringing back their Shredded Pork Carnitas line highlighted by a new Primo Carnitas Burrito.

The chain boasts carnitas “unlike anything available in the quick-service category,” noting that their pork is tender, and slow-braised in small batch kettles akin to the cooking methods found in traditional Mexican kitchens.

The new Primo Carnitas Burrito is filled with shredded pork, seasoned rice, spicy jack cheese, chipotle sauce, and fresh pico de gallo salsa. Alongside the Primo Carnitas Burrito comes four other products including the Carnitas Combo Burrito, a Carnitas Taco al Carbon, a Macho Carnitas Burrito and Carnitas Macho Nachos.

Also along for the limited-time-only ride comes the introduction of Cheddar Potato Poppers — essentially cheesy crunchy potato bites with bits of jalapeno. The Poppers will be available as a four piece order for $1.79 and as a six piece order for $2.49.
