MLB Opening Day: Craziest Eats From Ballparks Across the Nation
MLB’s opening day is officially here, and we’re celebrating here at Foodbeast by highlighting some of the most monstrocious food that is being introduced around Major League ball parks.
Let’s get right into it with the Texas Rangers’ new gigantic wiener that will be unleashed at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. “The Boomstick” is 2-feet long and weighs 1-pound. It is a Coney Island-style dog, topped with shredded cheese, chili, sauteed onions and exotic buns flown in from France. The Rangers say that one dog feeds 3-4 people, but for true Foodbeasts, the only way that’s happening is if you buy 3-4 of these.
The Minnesota Twins are all-in on new food production for 2012 as they will be introducing several new food items, but the only one that hits beast-mode is Valentini’s Mega Meatball. These giant marinara sauce covered balls are stuffed with cheese, and although it might be the most simple looking meal on this list, it is a really tasty looking one.
The Arizona Diamondbacks will introduce the Short-Rib Dog. Fans of Kogi BBQ can appreciate this one as it is a hot dog topped with beer braised short ribs, cheddar cheese and a mountain of crispy onions. They’re also releasing an Enchilada Dog, a footlong filled with cheese and three different types of chilies.
If you’re a fan of meat for dessert, the Milwaukee Brewers have what you need; A Meat Parfait!
The Beef Brisket Parfait was introduced in Miller Park last year, and now this bad boy will be brought back, and add a twist with a Pulled Pork BBQ Parfait. These guys are served in a parfait glass, stuffed with mashed potatoes, your choice of meat and topped with barbecue sauce.
If your city didn’t make the cut, do not fret fellow Foodbeasts. These are just some of the newer items hitting ball parks around the league, but every park features already established crazy foods such as the Doyer Dog at Dodger Stadium and the Pittsburgh Slugger Steak Sandwich at PNC Park.
It’s time to sit back, grab a dog and enjoy America’s favorite past time.
