Chocolate-covered Bacon Hearts

Bacon and chocolate, heart to go wrong, right? Our friend Nick took to the kitchen to gear up for this year’s looming Valentine’s Day to make his wife something extra special, and his mind somehow drifted to the idea of heart-shaped bacon crisps coated in chocolate.

While the shape of a heart isn’t tough to emulate, Nick used a heart-shaped metal cookie cutter to hold the bacon in place, wrapped them in tinfoil, and put them in the oven for 20 minutes at 400°. Following the bacon baking process, he threw them in them into the fridge to let them chill and harden, melted down some semi-sweet chocolate chips, dipped the bacon hearts in the mixture and put them back into the fridge to harden.

Hopefully his wife likes them. If she doesn’t, you can send a batch over to California, we’d be happy to oblige!
