Wendy’s Testing New “Black Label” Hamburgers?

2011 saw an influx of higher quality menu items at the steadily growing Wendy’s burger chain. The W Burger, Dave’s Hot ‘N Juicy Cheeseburgers, to name a few of the improvements. As for 2012, it looks like their latest addition might include this line of Black Label Hamburgers, spotted by a gentleman named Steven out in Wichita.

The box’s copy reads “The perfect harmony of signature taste and select ingredients.

Steven tells GrubGrade that the Black Label line of burgers were available in two varieties: Bacon Portabella and Spicy Santa Fe. Of the two sandwiches, Steven opted for the Bacon Portabella (true Foodbeast), which he described as having a mushroom sauce spread on the bottom bun, a 1/4 meat patty, muenster cheese, 3 bacon 1/2 slices, a thick tomato slice and another layer of peppery sauce on the top bun.

The only information he could gather about the Santa Fe variety was that it had guacamole as one of the ingredients. The sandwich was priced at over $5 for a single, which makes it pretty pricey for a fast food burger, but if it follows some of the same positive advancements in recent Wendy’s history, the chain might be hoping customers will fork over the extra dough for the extra quality.

We’ll have to wait and see if this makes it out of the testing phase and gets a national roll out. More information will be posted as it comes in.
