picNYC Table — The Chia Pet of Indoor Dining Furniture

Designed by Haiko Cornelissen Architecten, the picNYC table is a truly fresh play on the phrase “farm-to-table.” The fun indoor table utilizes a fresh patch of vegetation, allowing the end user to have a picnic on a fresh patch of grass.

The table is a real living organism, needing constant care, water, sunlight and can even be accommodating of flowers, herbs and vegetables. Maintaining a high level of aesthetic, the table works pretty well for those inhabitants of a city who need a little indoor freshness.

Imagine having a table where spilling water isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Or better yet, being able to chop herbs fresh from the garden, without getting up from your table for Christmas dinner. How will you use your picNYC table?
