Butterfinger Announces Bold New Salted Caramel Flavor

When two popular chocolate brands team up, it’s bound to result in delectable things. Ferrero, the company behind Ferrero Rocher and Nutella, has announced plans to introduce the first Butterfinger flavor innovation in almost a decade. The Butterfinger Salted Caramel flavor will be a limited time offering with the bar’s recognizable peanut butter taste, yet with caramel coating in place of chocolate.

Hoping to bolster its mainstream presence, Ferrero purchased Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, 100 Grand, Raisinets, and Crunch from Nestlé in 2019. Since acquiring Butterfinger, Ferrero has focused on improving its ingredients. The candy bar now includes jumbo runner peanuts and uses a higher percentage of cocoa and milk in the coating.

According to Food Dive, Butterfinger sales have increased by 12% annually since the acquisition. The only downside is that we have to wait until next April to experience Butterfinger Salted Caramel. Ferrero also plans to release more flavor innovations for Crunch and Babe Ruth within the year.
