Ameci Pizza & Pasta

Just like a lot of rational people, I REALLY like pizza. Any simple combination of carbohydrates and cheese is hard to mess up. Macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, nachos…the list goes on and on. That’s why on a rainy day last week I opted to grab some Italian eats at Ameci Pizza & Pasta in Irvine, CA.

A customer was trying to phone in an order for a medium pizza. He’s laughing because he had to explain that Ameci only offers “Large,” “Jumbo,” and “El Giganti” sizes. They do it major at Ameci.

Sausage Calzone. An Italian turnover made from pizza dough and stuff with cheese and toppings. Definitely the under appreciated cousin of the pizza. Go show it some love. ($5.99)
